Substation Electrician

Moorhead Public Service (MPS) is accepting applications for a Substation Electrician. Under general supervision, this position installs, repairs, and replaces electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical and electronic components of Moorhead Public Service’s (MPS’) machinery and equipment, to ensure power is supplied to all internal and external clients without disruption.

Minimum qualifications include an Associate’s degree or equivalent electrician training at a technical or vocational school; up to two (2) years of Master Electrician experience, including entry-level (0) experience; a Master Electrician Class A License, and a driver’s license valid in the state of Minnesota.

Desired qualifications include ten (10) years of experience in industrial, residential, and service truck electrical work and three (3) years of Master Electrician experience.

The 2026 wage range is $39.53 to $60.81 per hour. This position is represented by IBEW – union wages and benefits apply.
